Fat Dissolve injections
Injection lipolysis, or fat dissolving injections as it is more commonly known, is a minimally invasive treatment that helps reduce body fat in specifically targeted areas. It works to sculpt your body and target pockets of fat that can’t be lost through exercise alone.
This is a great non-surgical way to achieve a slimmer, more defined look in specific areas of your body such as the chin, arms, and hips.
How do fat dissolve injections work?
Fat dissolve injections use deoxycholic acid that breaks down the membranes of fat cells under the skin. Deoxycholic acid is naturally produced in the liver and the treatment mimics the way your body would naturally rid itself of excess fat.
Once the fat cells are compromised they quickly break down, and the fat is flushed from the body via the lymphatic system.
How long does it take fat dissolve injections to work?
While it can take a few weeks for your body to fully break down the fat cells in the targeted areas, you’ll be able to see the shrinking and tightening effects while it’s taking place.
Most people need between 2 and four treatments to reach their desired results, and noticeable improvements can be seen within one to two months.
How long do fat dissolve injections last?
Fat dissolving injections are permanent! Once the fat cells have been destroyed, they can’t grow back. There is a risk that untreated fat cells in the area can become larger if you gain weight, but with a healthy diet and exercise, this is avoidable.
How much weight can you lose with fat dissolving injections?
Fat dissolving injections are not intended as a weight loss treatment, instead, they work to sculpt the body and remove excess fat that can’t be shifted by exercise alone. While they are great for targeting small pockets of fat, they shouldn’t be used as a way to lose substantial amounts of weight.
Can anybody try fat dissolve injections?
Although fat dissolving injections are a safe, non-surgical way to sculpt your body, it is not a suitable treatment for everybody. Fat-dissolving treatments should not be given to
Pregnant or breastfeeding women
Patients with a medical history of a severe reaction or anaphylactic shock
Patients with severe illnesses
Patients with diabetes
Patients with autoimmune disease

Inner and outer thighs

Are there any side effects after fat dissolving injections?
After the treatment you’ll likely experience tenderness and swelling. You may also notice some discolouration of the skin. These effects will subside within 7-10 days and any discomfort can be treated with over-the-counter painkillers.
If you are worried about pain, the injectable compound can be mixed with lidocaine for additional pain relief while the treatment is taking place.
How much does a fat dissolving treatment cost?
Prices for fat dissolving injections vary between providers and the area being treated. Facial treatments often start around £200, while treatments targeting larger areas of the body cost upwards of £400.
During your consultation, your aesthetician will discuss how many treatments you’ll need to achieve your desired look along with the price of the treatments.
